1. Service Description

autoalt.eu is a browser-based tool that automatically generates missing ALT text for images on websites using artificial intelligence. The service analyzes a page and replaces empty ALT attributes—where technically feasible and supported.

2. Requirements and Limitations

• JavaScript is required for the service to function properly.
• No guarantee is made that ALT text will be generated or that the generated text will semantically match the image content.
• Not all image formats are supported (e.g., SVG is excluded).
• Functionality may be impacted by browser extensions, third-party plugins, or outdated browsers.
• No compatibility is guaranteed across all browsers.

3. Credits and Billing

• Usage is based on a credit system. Credit consumption varies depending on image type and processing load.
• With an active subscription, credits are automatically renewed each month.
• Additional purchased credits are valid only for the current billing cycle and expire at the end of the month. Rollover is not possible.
• Unused credits will also expire at the end of the monthly cycle.

4. Fair Use and Acceptable Conduct

• The service must be used only in accordance with applicable laws and for lawful purposes.
• Use of the service for generating ALT text for pornographic, discriminatory, violent, or illegal content is strictly prohibited.
• Automated or excessive usage (e.g., via bots, scripts, scraping) is not permitted unless explicitly authorized by the operator.
• The operator reserves the right to restrict or suspend access at any time without notice or explanation.

5. Image Processing and Cleanup

Uploaded or processed images are not stored permanently. To improve performance and storage efficiency, the system regularly cleans up processed images (e.g., duplicates, old temporary data). There is no claim to storage or retrieval of these files.

6. Availability and Warranty

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee availability, uninterrupted access, or fitness for a particular purpose. Use of the platform is at your own risk and subject to your technical environment.

7. Right of Withdrawal (EU/Consumer Law)

If you are a consumer under EU law, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day of contract conclusion. To exercise this right, you must send a clear statement (e.g., by email) informing us of your decision to withdraw. You may use the standard EU withdrawal form.

Consequences of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will refund all payments without delay and at the latest within 14 days of receiving your notice of withdrawal. If services have already been partially used during the withdrawal period, we may deduct an appropriate portion of the payment.

Waiver of Right of Withdrawal

Your right of withdrawal will expire prematurely if you expressly consent to the contract being executed before the end of the withdrawal period and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (as per § 356 (5) BGB).

8. Voluntary Money-Back Guarantee

In addition to your legal rights, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase if no more than 10% of your monthly credits have been used. This policy applies once per customer account.

9. Service Changes and Termination

The operator reserves the right to modify, restrict, or discontinue the service or its features at any time. Access may also be limited or revoked due to misuse or breach of these Terms.

10. Intellectual Property

The service, including its algorithms, UI components, and generated content, is protected by copyright. The generated ALT text may only be used for your own websites. Commercial redistribution or resale is not permitted.

11. Data Protection

Information on how we handle personal data and image content can be found in our Privacy Policy.

12. Final Provisions

• German law shall apply, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
• Jurisdiction, where permitted, is the operator's registered location.
• If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.

13. Legal Disclaimer for Generated ALT Texts

The ALT texts generated by autoalt.eu are created using AI models and are not guaranteed to be accurate, descriptive, or compliant with accessibility, copyright, or legal standards. You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and using any generated content.

The operator accepts no liability for any direct or indirect damages, accessibility violations, or legal issues arising from the use of automatically generated ALT attributes. Generated outputs do not constitute legal advice or compliance guarantees under GDPR, WCAG, Section 508, or other standards.
